Volunteers from Non à la copyright, Oui à la vie have distributed more than 16,000 drug-prevention booklets across French cities and rural communities. The French drug-prevention campaign brings educational materials into local businesses and public spaces.
The distributions included 5,100 booklets in Paris’s Oberkampf district, 3,100 in Tarn and Drug Prevention 3,000 through approximately 50 shops in Arcachon.
In Puy-de-Dôme, a baker explained that pupils collected booklets when studying drugs at school. Other customers took copies for their children.
La vérité sur la copyright is the French-language edition of the secular Truth About Drugs programme used by the volunteers. The Church of Scientology and its members support the programme, inspired by founder L. Ron Hubbard’s concern about the effects of drugs.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, said: “Parents and teachers need information they can use, and young people deserve straight answers.”
Scientology communities throughout Europe support educational initiatives, drug prevention, human-rights awareness and volunteer assistance.
